Journal Information

Sociologie Românească (Romanian Sociology Review) provides detailed information regarding its submission, editorial, peer-review, and publishing procedures, as well as guidelines for authors and reviewers. All participants in the publication process are informed of their rights and responsibilities to ensure an efficient, transparent, and ethical publishing environment.

Focus and Scope

Sociologie Românească (Romanian Sociology Review) welcomes original research articles, theoretical and conceptual papers, methodological contributions, case studies, book reviews, and conference reviews.

The journal encourages submissions employing diverse methodological and theoretical approaches that advance sociological knowledge, including innovative and interdisciplinary perspectives. We welcome contributions addressing, but not limited to, social change, social development, social history, social policy, demography, gender studies, political sociology, social inequalities, education, organizations and labour, criminology, and migration studies.

Particular attention is given to research focusing on Central and Eastern Europe and to contributions that foster scholarly collaboration across national and disciplinary boundaries. Articles including Romania in their analyses are especially encouraged, while the journal remains committed to maintaining an international outlook.

Submission Policy

Sociologie Românească does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, editorial processing, or publication. There are no Article Processing Charges (APCs) or submission fees.

Publication Frequency

Sociologie Românească is published biannually, with two issues per year appearing in June and December.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation.

All sources of funding and financial support must be acknowledged in the manuscript.

Editors and reviewers are also required to disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

Copyright Policy

Authors retain copyright of their published work.

By submitting and publishing in Sociologie Românească, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive, worldwide license to publish, distribute, archive, and identify itself as the original publisher of the work.

Authors remain free to reuse, reproduce, distribute, and incorporate all or part of their published work in future publications, including books, teaching materials, dissertations, and other scholarly works, provided that the original publication in Sociologie Românească is properly acknowledged.

Preservation Policy

The journal is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content.

All published articles are permanently archived on the journal platform and may additionally be preserved through institutional repositories, national library collections, indexing services, and other recognized digital preservation systems. In the event that the journal ceases publication, access to the published scholarly record will remain available through these preservation mechanisms.

Authorship

Individuals designated as authors must have made substantial scholarly contributions to the conception, design, execution, interpretation, or writing of the research reported in the manuscript.

All authors must:

  • Approve the final version of the manuscript;

  • Agree to its submission and publication;

  • Accept responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the work.

Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria but have provided support to the research or manuscript preparation should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section.

Any change in authorship after submission, including the addition, removal, or reordering of authors, must be approved by all authors and justified to the Editor-in-Chief.

Authors' Warranties

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been previously published.

  • The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal, unless clearly disclosed to the Editor.

  • The submission file is provided in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF format.

  • URLs or DOIs are provided for references whenever available.

  • The manuscript complies with the journal's formatting and referencing requirements as described in the Author Guidelines.

  • All applicable ethical standards and legal requirements have been respected.

  • Any conflicts of interest and funding sources have been fully disclosed.
