Abstract

The study addresses the ways in which the agricultural farms face the challenges posed by the postsocialist economy? Without neglecting the importance of the state policies, I will primarily focus on local and regional structures. In the paper I analyse various social relations, forms of economic exchange and levels of trust involved in agricultural farm management. The empirical data on agricultural farms were collected from three villages of Bărăgan region. Two relations are considered: the relation between farms and peasants/local community and that of farms with other economic actors involved in the production and distribution of agricultural products.
