Abstract (Rezumat în limba engleză): This paper presents a brief overview of data and results from two research projects coordinated by the Center of Media Studies and New Communication Technologies within a contract with the National Council of Audiovisual broadcasting. The topic of the first research was The evaluation of violence representation in TV broadcasting (July and November, 2004), and used an original research methodology. The second topic was Analysis of youngsters’ consuming behavior of audiovisual broadcasting (7-10 years, 11-14 years, 15-18 years, November 2005). The common idea of those two projects (one using a semio-discursive method for estimating the violent content and the other analyzing the audience and the impact of TV broadcasting on cultural models of the children) is the understanding of a historical fact: children and teenagers are, here too, the first generation which is growing (from the physical and symbolic point of view) with the TV set. Many studies point out the unwanted coincidence and the consequences of three factors that balance each other: the massive offer of TV shows with violent content (significantly higher than the averages of western TV channels); grouping of minors into the exposed category of greater TV consumers that are likely to build a „homo videns „identity ant to see the world through TV glasses; The psychological perception of media contents according to the age associated with TV violence discursive-representative structures, which increase the potential of a negative impact.
